Do you suffer from “tech neck” or persistent pain/numbness in areas related to the repetitive movement (or non movement) required of you for your work or hobbies?

Uncover the power that a consistent and progressive Reformer practice has to make a noticeable change in the way your body handles the repetitive movements that show up in our daily lives.

Created by P10 Instructor Chris, this series is designed to build the habits and core strength needed for a more comfortable posture during work, play and rest.

Experience the benefits of group class comradery as well the individualized attention of private sessions on a regular basis, with a consistent instructor and a curriculum designed to progress and build on itself in each new phase.

This series will consist of three phases of Basic to Intermediate level group Reformer Classes and Private Sessions over four active weeks. Each week Chris will conduct one group class and one private session for each participant. There will be a two week buffer between each phase to allow for participants that have scheduling issues to still participate and make up a private session.

More details about each phase of this special series below…

PHASE I: Work Posture is Bad, Pilates Posture is Good

Phase I of the Pilates for Life series covers an Introduction to Pilates Reformer. You will learn about centered posture— a comfortable, relaxed, and strong way to approach your Pilates practice, and to carry yourself through day to day activities outside of the studio.

You can expect to get a good workout and leave with increased body awareness, allowing you to take what you learn inside the studio, outside into the world! You’ll be encouraged to practice what you learn in your daily life, and during your corresponding private session you’ll dig deeper into what you can focus on independently to start seeing real, meaningful results.

PHASE II: Pilates Posture is Good, Strong Pilates Posture is Better

Now that participants have a foundation in Pilates and Reformer basics, in Phase II we will be building strength and muscle memory. We will layer new exercises and technique on top of the learning from Phase I, and head toward an intermediate level Reformer workout, while maintaining a focus on the natural, centered posture.

Private sessions during this phase will involve working on specific challenges you are facing, correcting your form, and increasing strength. Phase II is where we ensure that as you build your practice your foundation is ready to support your new learnings.

Something to note: this series may not be for everyone, but it IS for anyone. Regardless of your prior experience in Pilates, or your plan for continuing it afterwards, the goal for all participants remains the same: to become confident and comfortable enduring natural posture, and protecting and healing your body from the many ailments performing repetitive movements in bad form can cause. If you become a lifetime Pilates convert in the meantime, that is just a bonus!

PHASE III: Strong Pilates Posture is Better, Liberated Posture is Best

At this point, all participants will have developed a basic competency of the principles of Pilates. You will know how to utilize them during a Reformer series workout, and how to apply them outside the studio in order to benefit your real life. Specifically, you will have an understanding of the powerhouse and your centerline posture, and begin to notice the strength, flexibility and muscle memory you have built during the first two phases.

In terms of Pilates literacy, Phase III will have you on the road to total Reformer confidence. In the final group class and private sessions we will reinforce what has already been accomplished, delve further into intermediate level Reformer work, and focus on what you need individually to continue receiving the benefits of the series in your life outside the studio.
