When my first beloved Pilates instructor closed her studio, I was not sure I'd ever find another Pilates home. I suffered from chronic pain in my back and joints and was just beginning to learn important postural and alignment techniques. I'm so lucky to have found Pilates on 10th and the teachers there - there is such a range between the different teaching styles, which is not something I even realized would be a benefit to a larger studio. If I want a killer workout versus if I'm looking for more preventative, restorative gentle movement-- there are classes I know I can take for both of those, and then some.
I have to shout out to Nancy Ayala, who is a magical genius at guiding better mind-body connections and has incredible knowledge to share. The studio itself is clean and provides a supportive atmosphere (no music, thankfully, although I would say it's occasionally difficult to hear instructors if there's a lot of activity). Staff are friendly, helpful, and responsive. I highly recommend Pilates on 10th for spending quality time getting right with your body.
