Sliding Scale Mat Class

Want to be strong down to your core? Enjoy a Pilates Mat Class to strengthen yourself while keeping within your budget! Join us on Thursdays at 1PM for a challenging, all levels Mat Class that utilizes props, exercise balls and the foundational Pilates Mat sequence. Focus on getting where you want to be both physically and mentally! This class accepts walk-in’s, so no advanced sign up is needed but they are welcomed. All proceeds get donated to a local non-profit or charity of choice.

Baby & Me Series

Baby & Me is a recurring 6-week series. This series is a great way to ease back in to your Pilates regimen or start a new postnatal health journey. Similar to our prenatal class, Baby & Me focuses on strengthening areas of the abdomen and pelvic floor to help improve balance and reduce back pain. Taking care of your body is always important, but especially so when you're a parent!

Pilates on 10th welcomes your little one to join you for this series, but we do not provide extra hands for child care. Children may not explore the studio during the session, so car seats, strollers or any other holders are welcome in the space.

Series cost: $198

Outdoor Mat Class

JOIN OUR ONE-TIME OUTDOOR MAT CLASS:

Enjoy the great outdoors and a mat pilates class at Roanoke Park! Kim Grady will instruct this class where you will:

-Gain a better understanding of your anatomical alignment

-Increase movement precision

-Focus on strengthening deep stabilizer muscles

All levels are welcome to attend this class Sunday 7/28/19 at Roanoke Park, located at the end of 10th Ave East. You can park your car behind Pilates on 10th and take a 4-minute walk down the hill. You are welcome to bring your own mat (or use one of ours!).

Pre/Post Natal Workshop W/Special Guest

Having a baby is a BIG deal. That's why we want YOU to feel your best in the process. At this special class specifically designed for soon-to-be (or current) parents you will gain:

Attend this special workshop with our guest instructor, Jackie visiting from Gig Harbor, OR. Taking care of your body is always important, but especially so when you're a parent!

Special Guest: Originally for Northern California, Jackie Joyner began her Pilates training as a dancer diagnosed with scoliosis in her teens to combat back pain. She studied dance and kinesiology at California State University Long Beach and then California State University Fullerton as a dance major. 

She has danced professionally at the Disneyland Resort as a parade performer for five years where she danced both on the stage and street as well as special televised events. While dancing and choreographing professionally Jackie set out to complete a comprehensive Pilates training program in 2011 and is a certified Pilates instructor with a dance specialization from Body Arts and Science International as well as a Prenatal Pilates Doula with Live Life Pilates. 

Jackie continues to teach dance and movement throughout the Puget Sound and loves to share her passion for the method with all.

The Balancing Act

It’s never too early or too late to start working on balance, both in the pilates studio, and out. Each year, more than one in four older adults aged 65 and older will fall, adding up to 29 million falls annually. In this workshop, we’ll explore the three main components of balance, play fun games that challenge our visual system, explore our vestibular system’s role in balance, and see how your pilates practice can enhance your whole body strength, stability and adaptability.

Kayleigh Miller is a professional violist, yoga instructor, and Pilates instructor. She combines her loves for movement, anatomy and embodied musicianship, and is a section violist in the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra. She is additionally a Yoga Tune Up® integrated instructor and works with musicians and non musicians alike.

Did you know roughly 75% of adults in the United States live with foot, toe, or heel pain? The health of our feet greatly impacts the health of the entire body. Everything from our ability to walk and stand to general movement is affected by our feet. 

Yet, our feet are often ignored until the pain impedes us. Pilates instructors are interested in (and excited by!) feet and how to help them function better. In this two hour workshop, we will learn about: 

-Foot mechanics
-Mobility exercises 
-Self-massage techniques 

...and many other methods to keep feet strong and resilient!
